An Australian man who vaulted across a fence and touched Hollywood star Ariana Grande has been sent away and barred from Singapore.

The man, aged 26, was sentenced to more than a week in detention for causing a public disturbance and has now been "prohibited from returning to Singapore," the country's border control informed news outlets.

Wen pushed past photographers and approached aggressively the celebrity, who was participating in the Asian premier for the film on 13 November. Co-star Cynthia Erivo pulled him back from Grande.

He has a background of interrupting performances and star-studded occasions, including rushing the stage at a Katy Perry performance in Sydney in this summer.

The occurrence caused anger in Singapore, with many accusing him of re-traumatising Grande.

The singer has discussed experiencing PTSD after a suicide bomb attack at her show in the English city in May 2017 killed over twenty people and injured hundreds.

During Wen's trial, the court heard he had tried to gain access on the film's premiere on two occasions, according to Singaporean media.

He then made a another effort to breach security. Security staff intercepted him and pinned him down.

Wen later posted videos expressing gratitude to the star for permitting his access and said he was "free."

Law enforcement took him into custody the subsequent day and charged him with causing a disturbance, to which he confessed.

The District Judge Christopher Goh was cited by a news outlet as remarking that Wen was "attention seeking", adding that he was mistaken to assume he would not face any penalties.

The singer has not commented on the incident.

Cynthia Erivo discussed the event to NBC, stating that she "just wanted to make sure my colleague was secure."

"I'm sure he had no intention to us injury, but you cannot be certain with these incidents, and I aimed to confirm that she was fine. That was my immediate response," she commented.
