Nigel Farage Accuses Teachers of ‘Poisoning Our Kids’ on Race Issues

The political figure stated that teachers would go on strike within weeks a success at the polls for his party, charging that they are “harming young minds” by instructing children that African-Caribbean youth are oppressed and Caucasian students are perpetrators.

During an event for a private US Christian college, Farage outlined his viewpoint on the UK education system, claiming that the “radical left-wing” had “now in control of our education system”.

“I’m anticipating a teachers’ strike soon after securing a victory,” he remarked during a Q&A session.

“They are corrupting young minds. They instruct children to feel guilt about their nation. They are telling an eight-year-old black child that he is oppressed and a white child of the same age that he is an oppressor. They are dividing us, not uniting us. They are feeding this negative culture.”

In response to these assertions, the head of a major education union rejected the notion that the schools were under Marxist influence as “absurd”. Kebede noted that industrial action must relate to educators’ working conditions, and doubted whether Reform would attack these right after taking office.

“Farage has built his public life on coded rhetoric and currently, similar to other figures, he is lining up teachers and their unions for a fight,” the union leader said.

“I think that’s grossly irresponsible. Neither I nor our union – push critical race theory as he claims … If he were to lead the government he would undermine state services, including education … and he would be a disaster for students and learning.”

The party, which tops surveys by a significant margin, has provided limited specifics on its educational plans and does not appear to have designated an education lead.

However, Farage’s remarks indicated the party would overhaul the system and the curriculum. Farage declared: “We face an enormous task with education – absolutely herculean. And, we can’t do it in six months or a year; it will take us years, a long-term effort to reform.”

Farage expressed that gen Z was more open to analytical thought, but older youth were “completely lost”.

Honoring Charlie Kirk, he commented: “My goal for schooling is to foster independent thought – to instruct people that multiple perspectives exist and you make up your own mind rather than what’s happening now where one is virtuous and one is evil. This is a huge undertaking in the UK and US.”

Reform has previously clashed with a major educators’ organization, after Kebede called the party “far right and racist” and dismissed Farage as “a poundshop Donald Trump”.

The politician has charged the union head with being “an avowed radical” … someone who is absolutely determined that young minds be corrupted at school, their minds should be poisoned about everything to do with this country” and has argued that the union is trying to indoctrinate youth opposed to his party.

Roughly a million individuals are employed in education in the UK, with educators comprising half and the others teaching assistants and support staff. The leading teachers’ organization has about 450,000 members.

Countrywide walkouts over teacher pay and conditions in recent years caused widespread disruption in schools and extensive missed instruction for children.

At the US event, the Reform leader also vowed to promote the digital courses of the Christian college in the UK. He said organizations like it were “part of the fightback”, adding that: “I mean this. I will help attract vast numbers of young people to these educational programs. I pledge this tonight and I’ll do that.”

The college, a small private Christian college, offers free courses. Its website states: “A scientific, literary, theological, political, and moral education is necessary for personal happiness and to perpetuate the blessings of civil and religious liberty. The college furnishes these excellent programs for no charge to all who wish to learn.”
