Star Denies Anti-Vax Stance Following Lending His Voice To Controversial Pandemic Film
The acclaimed actor has provided his narration to a feature-length documentary that challenges the efficacy of immunizations and praises one-time government figure the political figure.
The Feature's Disputed Origins
Titled "Plague of Corruption," the project is based on a popular book co-authored by a disgraced researcher, who rose to infamy during the global outbreak for allegations that the virus was linked to a faulty batch of the influenza shot.
The publication's collaborator, the executive producer, has penned books with conspiracy-prone radio host the Infowars host. Heckenlively wrote online celebrating Neeson's role in the film.
A Firm Rebuttal
The team of Neeson have provided a response firmly refuting suggestions that he supports anti-vax views.
"Many acknowledge that unethical practices may occur within the drug industry, but that must not be conflated with opposition to vaccines," the statement states. "He has never been, and is not, anti-vaccination. His extensive work with the UN children's agency underscores his long-held support for global immunisation initiatives."
The response noted that the actor did not shape the documentary's editorial content and that questions about its claims are best addressed to the producers.
Key Claims Within the Feature
According to the documentary, the narration spoken by Neeson features several controversial statements:
- It states that pro-vaccine voices have called for "unconditional submission" to health authorities.
- It argues that "science has become highly politicised."
- RFK Jr is shown claiming, "The big problem with vaccines is that they simply are not safely tested."
- The film further attacks pandemic restrictions, saying they caused mental anguish that resulted in thousands of lives.
- On the topic of pandemic shots, it cites a report that they were "hurriedly approved" and seen as "hazardous tests."
Historical Context and Ongoing Issues
The documentary further cites a 2004 BBC documentary about clinical trials on children, which was subsequently the focus of a correction by the broadcaster for violations of guidelines.
Last month, Kennedy instructed the national health agency to revise its long-held position that there is no connection between vaccines and autism spectrum disorder. This claim is repeated in the documentary, contrary to a recent study from the WHO reiterating no such link has been found.
A Past Position of Endorsement
Standing in contrast to the documentary's tone, Neeson has in the past expressed strong support for vaccines in his capacity as a UNICEF goodwill ambassador.
In 2022, he called vaccines as "a remarkable human success story," stating that "The debate about vaccines in the past few years has overlooked how much positive impact they have done... It is perhaps one of the biggest shared accomplishments in our history."
"Plague of Corruption" finishes with Neeson's script stating, "This marks not the finish of our story. It is the dawn of a fresh chapter."
