Following a decisive victory at the Qatar Grand Prix, the Red Bull driver has dramatically reduced the margin in the championship standings. Now sitting just a dozen points behind leader the British driver and in front of teammate Oscar Piastri, the scene is set for a thrilling three-way title decider at the renowned Yas Marina Circuit.

What makes this late-season charge truly astonishing is the margin he has fought back. Following the Zandvoort round in August, he was a staggering over a century of points behind the then-leader Oscar Piastri and had essentially conceded his championship hopes.

The turnaround began with significant car developments introduced by Red Bull at the Italian Grand Prix. Adjustments to the car's floor and front wing solved persistent handling problems, allowing the driver to push to the limit with the car once more.

From then on, his form has been utterly spectacular, racking up five wins and several top-three finishes. He made sure to highlight the collective effort behind this comeback.

"We have triumphed where maybe it seemed unlikely, by making the right call as a team," he noted. "My collaboration with my team on the pit wall and the every member... we are perfectly synchronized."

The Stakes for a Unforgettable Showdown.

Ahead of the arrive in Abu Dhabi, the mathematics is perfectly defined.

• Lando Norris will claim his debut world title if he beats both Verstappen and Piastri or takes a podium finish.
• The challenger has to take the checkered flag first and hope that his rival finishes off the podium.
• Oscar Piastri, trailing by sixteen points, must also win and see his teammate place outside the top five.

The intensity rests heavily on McLaren, who have seen a sizable lead evaporate due to costly errors, including a double disqualification in Las Vegas. In his view, being the hunter allows for fearlessness, transforming the ultimate Grand Prix into a simple shot at the title with everything to gain.
