The Hit Drama Confirmed for Seventh Season on the British Broadcaster
The beloved crime series AC-12 is officially returning for its seventh season, confirmed by the BBC.
An upcoming six-part season written by the show's creator will begin filming in Belfast in the coming months, according to the production team.
Vicky McClure expressed excitement about the return, stating she was "so excited" about the series' return. Her co-star remarked, "How wonderful it is to know that the Three Amigos will be reuniting together next year."
The last series concluded in recent years with a final episode that drew in over 17 million viewers. Speculation about a new season have been circulating ever since, but official word only came recently.
New Challenges for The Team
The seventh season will open with the anti-corruption unit having been disbanded and renamed as the Inspectorate of Police Standards, as revealed by production details.
Steve Arnott, Kate Fleming, and Adrian Dunbar's part continue tasked to combat corruption within the law enforcement.
The team's mission "faces unprecedented challenges", and under these circumstances, these officers will take on their "most delicate case to date."
New Character and Intricate Plot
An additional officer, DI Dominic Gough, portrayed as a charismatic officer known for takedowns of criminal networks, is accused of misusing his authority to become a offender.
Yet, his case could be a deliberate distraction from a larger danger still active in the shadows, the teaser hinted.

The finale of series six drew the extended plot about the hunt for criminal mastermind known as "the mysterious H" to a conclusion, and the creative team indicated at the moment there were no intentions for further series.
Nevertheless, the network announced on Tuesday that a new season is now being produced.
