Travis Head Reached Out to Duckett After Video Scrutiny

Cricket players Travis Head and Ben Duckett in play

The two batters have been on opposing sides in the past two Ashes series.

Australian opener Travis Head has revealed that he sent a message to English counterpart Ben Duckett following a video circulated appearing to show the player in a intoxicated state prior to the MCG Test.

Accounts indicated that players were consuming significant amounts of alcohol during a respite in the beach town of Noosa between the second and the third Tests.

One unverified video sparked heightened examination on the squad and on Duckett personally.

"I have a good relationship with Ducky and reached out to see if he was alright," stated Head.

"Everyone is still human. What you do in your personal time is your own business.

"I understand we live a high profile life and certain individuals are more high profile than others.

"In the end, it is a bit stiff but I don't think there is any major concern."

Background of the Incident

England's time in Noosa came after they had gone 2-0 down in the Ashes series after defeats in Perth and Brisbane.

Several media outlets reported that some players were consuming alcohol for a significant portion of their time on the Queensland coast, in addition to on two previous days in Brisbane.

Though they gave an improved showing in the following Test, they lost in Adelaide to surrender the series to Australia.

The Australian's Viewpoint

Commenting following England's victory in the fourth Test, Head remarked: "I felt envious.

"Everyone has blown it out of proportion than it warranted.

"We have done the same thing on previous tours. I don't see an issue with it."
