The United Kingdom is set to progress with utilizing the entire amount of immobilized Russia's holdings to support the Ukrainian military campaign, Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has announced.

In a shared declaration, the leaders of the United Kingdom, France, and Germany stated that this unified step would heighten pressure on Russia's leader Vladimir Putin and persuade Russia to come to the table.

They further noted that the initiative would be implemented in close cooperation with the United States.

United Kingdom restrictions have immobilized in excess of £25bn of Russia's funds since the Russian government initiated its widespread offensive against Ukraine in 2022. However, previously, money allocated to the Ukrainian government using Russia's holdings had solely been drawn from earnings and returns earned on them.

Sir Keir assured Ukraine's leader Volodymyr Zelensky that the UK, the French Republic, and Germany were aligned in their aim to drive progress toward employing the full value of the immobilized Russian sovereign funds to end the war.

He stated that more measures in the coming days and weeks would apply more pressure on the Russian government.

This declaration follows European officials gathered in the Danish capital previously to consider using frozen Russia's funds for a €140bn financial aid to Ukraine.

Recently, American leader Donald Trump encouraged Group of Seven partners to confiscate or employ frozen Russia's holdings, according to media sources.

The worth of seized Russian assets in the Europe is estimated to be almost €211bn.

President Zelensky urges Britain's Sir Keir Starmer to participate in the PURL program

Moscow carried out widespread aerial attacks across Ukraine on Friday, causing power cuts in significant regions of Kyiv, the city, and multiple additional areas.

Two people were lost their lives and a minimum of 20 people were injured in the assault, Ukrainian officials said.

In a message on an online platform after the attack, Zelensky commented that the cynical and calculated attack aimed at non-military and power facilities.

"What is required is not mere statements but decisive action - from the US, EU, and the seven nations - in delivering anti-aircraft weapons and enforcing restrictions," he wrote.

"All penalty impositions diminishes the Russian war effort," Zelensky noted, in a different message.

Additionally that day, Zelensky told the press he would urge Sir Keir to enter the PURL program, under which partner nations buy weapons from the America to give to Ukraine.

While praising the Britain's strong support for Kyiv, he remarked it should send a clear signal that it would take part in the program, as well as impose additional sanctions on Russia.
